The Florida Ghost Gathering 2008 "Networking Florida Paranormal Groups Together The Florida Ghost Gathering is back again this year! It will be held at the Heritage Hotel in St. Petersburg on June 6th, 7th and 8th. This event is being hosted by SWFPI of Fort Myers and S.P.I.R.I.T.S of St. Petersburg. Last year's event at the Clewiston Inn was a great success and the start to a very good thing for paranormal groups located in Florida. We were able to bring paranormal groups of all kinds together to meet one another, better network, learn new things, debate, and investigate and most of all-have a good time. As investigative groups, we usually find little time in our busy schedules to network in our own community and sometimes lose perspective of how large the phenomenon we are studying really is. We will continue the tradition with the 2nd Annual 2008 Florida Ghost Gathering. We are committed to bringing the Florida paranormal community together.

Speakers: This year SWFPI and S.P.I.R.I.T.S of St. Petersburg are working hard to prepare for this year's event. Thanks to S.P.I.R.I.T.S., we have secured Patrick Burns, host of Haunted Evidence and world renowned photographer, as a speaker. More speakers are to be announced soon. We would also like to invite other groups attending to contribute to the list of speakers. Speakers can choose most any paranormal topic and a typical session time allowed will be one-hour. If a speaker does not wish to talk one-hour, we will try to combine speakers with similar topics to fill the one-hour session. So, if you have someone in your organization that would like to share their knowledge of the paranormal and would not mind speaking in front of his or her peers, please contact us with the appropriate information (name of speaker, group, date/time desired to present, topic).

Investigation: In order to participate in the investigation(s), a guest is required to be registered guest of the Heritage Hotel. Both Friday and Saturday nights are scheduled for investigation. We are currently securing the attached hotel restaurant for investigation as well. We will have a meeting room lined with desks and chairs for those groups participating in full investigative setups. Please bring your power cords and plenty of video cord for your DVRs. This meeting room will have a lock so your equipment should be safe and will be a perfect place to "talk shop" with your peers.


Costs: The total cost per room will be $128.00. The rooms are typically $97.00 a night plus tax or $107.00. To cover the cost of the meeting rooms and to make sure a wedding, reunion, or some other event is not slated for the same time, we have secured all the meeting space within the hotel. This in turn, added to the cost per room. So, the extra $20 helps cover that cost. Also for those just coming for the day there will be a minimal fee. If we can decrease this cost we will or eliminate the cost entirely. We will update this information as we get closer to the event date. The price, at this point, will only decrease if we can fill all expected rooms as far as reservations for the event. You will not be required to pay until you arrive at the hotel's location. The final cost will be made known before the event. If you have 4 in a room, your cost will be $32 a person. And, 2 in a room will be $64 a person per night. We do not believe this is a bad price considering the beautiful location and we are committed to being as transparent about the cost as possible. We are excited to welcome all of you to this event as we continue to bring the Florida paranormal community together!
